Pokemon Legends: Arceus isn’t an open-world game after all

Pokemon Company has made it clear that Pokemon Legends: Arceus is not an open-world game, as many think because of the real meaning of the game and by watching trailers.

By definition, it looks like the game will be similar to Monster Hunter, in that instead of running aimlessly around the world doing anything, the big valley will serve as a base for activities. Here, the player will take on tasks before planning to unlock locations.

While the Pokemon Company did not directly show the Monster Hunter, it sounds similar to how the journey works.

Set in the old version of the Sinnoh region, in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, you will be trying to complete the first Pokedex.

By choosing Rowlet, Cyndaquil, or Oshawott as the first Pokemon, you will be working with a “mysterious professor” who has traveled the world.

Gameplay lets you see Pokemon to learn how they behave, then shoot carefully, and aim your Poke Ball. You can also have your ally Pokemon of the wild Pokemon battle that you hope to catch. Just throw the Poke Ball holding your ally Pokemon next to the wild Pokemon, and you will freely enter the battlefield and command your Pokemon.

Arceas is a special Pokemon, which seems to shape the world and have a relationship with your story.

When Pokémon Legends: Arceus was first revealed it was described and compared extensively in open-world games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While the PR and early images of the game provided an image of an open environment that you can move from one place to another, it seems unlikely this will happen at all.

Pokémon’s company shared a statement in response to a story in Kotaku, which looks like it will be similar to a series like Monster Hunter – with spaced locations. While not directly showing the game, it explains how you as a coach will start from the village to the “various open spaces” of Hisui district to complete tasks. Here is the statement:

“In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Jubilife Village will serve as a testing ground for the journey. After receiving an assignment or request and preparing for their next trip, players will leave the area to study one of the various open spaces of Hisui District. Their next mission. We look forward to sharing more information about the exploration of the Hisui region soon. “

So, there you go – it’s not the kind of open land title that others might have been thinking about or the comparison. This new entry in the series will come to switch on January 28 next year. Recently, we looked at Scyther’s new appearance.
